4X4 - Basic Skills

These are the kind of skills that is a pleasure to learn, and who knows when you might need them? What is more, you will be able to enjoy some truly beautiful surroundings, and generally take the road less travelled. It really is an education - above all it is FUN.
The Level One course is an entry level, half day course. The theory session is designed to educate new off-road drivers of the mechanical components and various techniques they might require when venturing off-road.
During this 1 hour theoretical session, participants will be educated on the following:
• Safety aspects whilst venturing off-road
• The layout of a permanent four wheel drive vehicle
• Various electronic driving aids associated with the highly technologically advanced Land Rover vehicles
• Basic off-road driving techniques
• Basic maintenance & vehicle courtesy
The course then gives the drivers the opportunity to go on a three-hour practical drive, practicing what they have just learned. You will climb seemingly impossible inclines, negotiate different surfaces and learn how to keep your off road journeys safe and enjoyable. On completion candidates who have passed the course successfully will be issued with a Level 1 Off-road Driving Certificate.

Location:
Johannesburg, Gauteng
Availability:
Courses take place from Tuesday - Friday (morning or afternoon session) with Saturday and Sunday offering a morning session only.
Who:
Any owner of an off-road vehicle is recommended to attend a recognised off-road driving course where expert tutors walk you through the basics of bush driving.
Numbers:
This experience is for one person and forms part of a group. Minimum numbers apply.
Weather:
Only in harsh rain conditions will the experience be postponed.
What to take:
You should wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Always take the necessary sun precautions as well as bottled water.
Duration:
Allow 4 hours for this experience.
