Look no further for the ultimate thrill of your life - Tandem Skydiving is the way to go if you want the ultimate joy ride and if you are a complete novice! If you are thinking of taking up skydiving as a new hobby then this is an ideal and "out there" taster of what to expect. Experience the thrill of freefall.
On a tandem jump, you are strapped to a Tandem Instructor with a special harness that`s attached to a specially designed parachute large enough to support both of you.
A tandem jump requires approximately 15 - 20 minutes of ground training. After that it`s a spectacular 20-minute aircraft ride, enjoying the finest views from the skies above. Then it`s out the door for a 120mph/200kph freefall together, falling about 25 seconds from 10,000ft or for 35 seconds from 11,000ft. Feel your heart in your throat, catch your breath and open your eyes to see the magnificent kingdom beneath you. A feeling one can`t explain will come over you and just as you start relaxing the Tandem Instructor opens the parachute and a peaceful 3-4 minute parachute ride follows. Once you reach the earth below with your feet firmly on the ground, you can drink water to moisten your mouth from screaming like a girl up there!

Availability:
Tandem experiences can be booked throughout the year. Most operators are also open on weekends. As this is a very popular experience you are advised to book long in advance especially during high season.
Who:
Although you do not need to be fit, you need to be in good health in order to participate. This experience is not for the faint hearted. You should not suffer from any chronic/critical disorder or be pregnant.
The maximum weight for a tandem passenger is 105kg, heavier persons at the discretion of the Tandem Instructor.
Parental consent is required for jumpers under the age of 21.
Numbers:
This is for one person only. You will jump with your instructor strapped to your back and it is highly likely that others will be participating in the experience with you.
Weather:
This experience is weather dependent. You are advised to call your experience vendor before you set out on the day. If the experience is cancelled due to the weather, you will be allowed to rebook.
What to take:
You should wear comfortable clothes. Long trousers and closed shoes are recommended. Tie back long hair and take the necessary sun precautions. You should also take something warm to wear as well as bottled water.
Duration:
Allow approximately 45 minutes for the actual experience this includes training, flight and jump. This is only an approximate as durations vary from venue to venue.
Additional Information:
This experience includes the ground instruction provided by a qualified tandem master, the tandem master`s fee, packing fee (Tandem Chute), hire of equipment and in most cases a certificate.
This package does not include transfer fees.
If you`d like to capture the moment, most clubs have video cameraman who can accompany you on your jump. This is an additional charge at your expense.
You will be required to sign an indemnity/waiver before completing the jump.
Your safety is of utmost importance at all times, all instructors and experience vendors have the necessary and recognised qualifications as well as affiliations.
